Cloud Implementation Engineer

With over 25 years of mastery in cloud solutions and over 20 years in business, we have made every customer’s experience extraordinary in servicing them with on-premises and off-premises solutions. We are skilled practitioners in ColdFusion, Blockchain, Server Management, High Availability Solutions, Security and Application Management.

We level-up our clients Cloud experiences, using the latest equipment to drive powerful sites and applications. We offer an off-premises cloud server hosting management platform for small, medium and enterprise companies. xByte Cloud solutions provide VPS servers, application management, security expertise and third-party management services.

We are looking for a Cloud Implementation Engineer. Come help clients adopt the Cloud!

The Right Fit and Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working in technical support
  • Previous experience being part of a 24/7/365 production environment
  • Basic understanding of computing, storage, networking, scripting, site management, FTP, IIS, Windows and Linux OS
  • Passion for technology as demonstrated by your projects and interests
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and ability to lead a conversation with clients
  • Experience communicating technical concepts to non-technical audiences
  • You have a knowledge of cloud-based technologies (Cloud, Database, Infrastructure, etc)
  • You possess a passion for technology and love to stay on top of technology trends and put them to use in real-world use cases
  • You are passionate about learning new things
  • You are skilled at scoping, prioritizing and leading technical projects or migrations from start to finish
  • You thrive with autonomy and enjoy taking ownership of your work and its results from inception to finish
  • You are comfortable using diverse platforms and technologies in an ever-growing cloud ecosystem
  • You are a problem-solver, with strong technical skills and have a track record of mov-ing clients forward in their cloud journey

  • Responsibilities:

  • In this role, you will partner with internal and external teams of the business to help cli-ents craft highly scalable, flexible, and resilient cloud architectures that address client's business needs. At xByte Cloud, we provide reliable and scalable cloud environments for organizations who have a footprint in the cloud. Cloud Services include hosted Windows/Linux server solutions, Mail Delivery solutions, Database solutions, Active Direc-tory and VPN, etc.
  • As a trusted client advocate, you will help organizations understand best practices around cloud-based solutions and provide tools and documentation for migrating existing workloads to the cloud.
  • You will have the opportunity to help clients use full-stack IT Solutions within their organizations, ranging from new start-ups to large enterprise customers.
  • You will support our clients with technical challenges for internal and external sites, applications, databases, backups, and different software.
  • Throughout the placement, you will be exposed to relevant real-world challenges of different organizations and clouds setups.

  • As a Cloud Implementation Engineer, you will receive the opportunity to continue your training in modern infrastructure design and management.

    What You'll Do:

  • Migrate websites, files, and databases from production environments into xByte Cloud
  • Build and maintain customer facing production environments and continuously monitor and maintain service availability
  • Build solutions to manage platform infrastructure and applications using widely adopted technology such as MSSQL, MySQL, ColdFusion, .NET, PHP, Active Directory, OpenVPN, Cloudflare, etc.
  • Technical troubleshooting for hosting environments running a wide variety of systems and applications. Troubleshooting will consist of basic website troubleshooting, data-base setup and configuration, backup, and restorations, installing SSL certificates, troubleshooting urgent site or server down incidents
  • Measure and optimize system performance, with an eye toward pushing our capabilities forward, and innovating to continually improve xByte Cloud’s ecosystem of services
  • Provide primary operational support and engineering for sites and applications
  • Gather and review metrics from operating systems and applications to assist in performance tuning and fault finding
  • Participate in system design, platform management, and capacity planning for Enterprise hosting environments
  • Meet service level agreements through speed and reliability
  • Collaborate closely to support the clients with an everything matters mindset
  • Develop and present sales and technical materials to educate clients on the value of Cloud Services for business applications
  • Write technical documents that outline and define specifics of how to find value with Cloud Services and other tools
  • You are creative and skilled at producing technical solutions and workarounds to help tackle clients/business problems
  • Design and diagram technical solutions and architectures that meet clients' requir-ments and drive architectural discussions to ensure partners successfully integrate
  • Represent client's needs, opinions, ideas, and feedback to xByte product and engineering teams
  • Guide clients in Cloud Service and best practices to reap the benefits to long-term value and success
  • Participate in on-call rotation, which includes some weekends in a 24x7x365 mission critical environment

  • Helpful Have's:

  • Direct work experience with Microsoft Windows Server or Linux Operating System environments
  • AWS/Azure/GCP Cloud experience
  • Scripting and automation knowledge using tooling and programming languages to im-prove processes - IE: PowerShell, Python, SQL, .NET, etc.
  • ColdFusion experience a plus
  • Working knowledge of networking and VPN solutions
  • Experience working for a hosting or cloud company
  • VMWare experience a plus

    Warehouse Receiving Technician

    Job Description:
    The Warehouse Receiving Technician is responsible for providing a positive first impression for xByte Technologies clientele. The Receiving Technician processes, organizes, and stores incoming product. They are also responsible for picking the parts for sales orders. Receiving Technicians ensure the warehouse is stocked and ready for business every day.

    Responsibilities:

  • Receives material and checks to ensure proper count and no damage. Reports any damage and shortages to the supervisor
  • Signs off packing list and creates necessary receiving tickets to move material to inspection area
  • Put incoming product in its designated location and enter in inventory
  • Accurately pick, scan, and organize parts for all sales orders
  • Properly static bag and pack each component and or server correctly using methods provided by Warehouse Manager
  • Stage finished product for shipment and places all items in properly designated warehouse location dependent upon service level of shipment (pickup, ground, express, freight, international, etc.)
  • Requirements:

  • Ability to lift materials weighing 50-75lbs
  • Ability to stand most of the day
  • Minimum high school diploma
  • Preferred, not required: Forklift operation experience/certification
